Germany's wholesale price inflation rose to a five-month high in September, data from Destatis revealed Monday.

Wholesale prices advanced 3.4 percent year-on-year in September, following a 3.2 percent rise in August. This was the fastest increase since April, when prices climbed 4.7 percent.

Prices of solid fuels and mineral oils had the biggest influence on the overall index, with the component rising 6.8 percent annually.

Month-on-month, wholesale price inflation doubled to 0.6 percent from 0.3 percent in August. Monthly inflation was the fastest since January.
