Argentinean President Mauricio Macri and his Peruvian counterpart Pedro Pablo Kuczynski recently discussed a possible rapprochement between the Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance. They also agreed to demand transparent elections in Venezuela.
"I am delighted to be in this friendly country," Kuczynski said during a state visit to Argentina. "We have always had a good relationship, and we want to maintain that good collaboration. There are several cultural agreements, educational issues and there are also commercial talks underway."
At the meeting, eight agreements were signed to allow greater cooperation between the two nations, said Macri. According to him, these agreements would encourage trade between private sectors and greater cultural integration.
On the situation in Venezuela, Macri said: "The months go by and things are getting worse every day. We have to continue working together in the Lima Group, through which we are trying to set an agenda that expresses to the world what is happening in the region and Venezuela."
