Buenos Aires and Moscow intend to expand bilateral trade, primarily regarding the entry of Argentinean meat in the Russian market, increasing investments in energy and moving ahead with common projects in scientific-technological areas and biotechnology. The decision was made in the framework of a meeting between both countries minister of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Faurie and Sergey Lavrov, in Russia.
During the meeting, while Faurie sought to open the Russian market to Argentinean meat, Lavrov stressed the need to increase Russian investments in Argentina, specifically in sectors such as renewable energy and conventional energy.
They also agreed on a visit of an Argentinean business mission to Russia in February and talked about a possible visit by Argentina's President, Mauricio Macri, to Russia in the next year.
