Czech industrial production growth accelerated in October to the highest level in more than a year, data from the Czech Statistical Office showed Thursday.

Industrial production advanced an unadjusted 10.5 percent year-over-year in October, much faster than the 4.9 percent rise in September. That was just above the 10.3 percent spike economists had forecast.

Moreover, the latest rate of increase was the quickest since August last year, when production had grown 13.9 percent.

Production in the utility sector alone surged 15.4 percent annually in October and manufacturing output grew by 10.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped a seasonally adjusted 1.5 percent in October.

Another report from the statistical office showed that construction output rebounded strongly by 5.9 percent yearly in October, after a 3.2 percent fall in the previous month.

Month-on-month, construction output increased 3.0 percent in October.
