Brazil's monthly inflation eased more-than-expected in November after accelerating in the previous month, mainly due to the continued fall in food prices, preliminary data from IBGE showed Friday.
The consumer price index rose 0.28 percent month-on-month following 0.42 percent in October. Economists had forecast 0.35 percent inflation.
Food and beverage prices dropped 0.38 percent after a 0.05 percent decrease in the previous month.
The year-on-year increase in the CPI edged up to 2.80 percent in November from 2.70 percent in the previous month. Economists had forecast 2.88 percent inflation.
The year-to-date inflation was 2.50 percent in November, the lowest since 1998, when it was 1.32 percent.
