At 2.00 am ET Friday, Destatis is set to release Germany's producer price index for December. Index is forecast to rise 0.2 percent in December from 0.1 percent in November.
Ahead of the data, the euro fell against its major rivals.
The euro was worth 0.8815 against the pound, 1.1734 against the franc, 1.2258 against the greenback and 135.85 against the yen as of 1:55 am ET.
