Statistics Canada releases Canada GDP data for January at 8:30 am ET Thursday. The economy is expected to grow 0.1 percent on month, unchanged from the December reading.
Ahead of the data, the loonie traded mixed against its major rivals. While the loonie held steady against the yen and the aussie, it rose versus the greenback and the euro.
The loonie was worth 1.5883 against the euro, 82.55 against the yen, 1.2894 against the greenback and against the aussie as of 8:25 am ET.
