2018.04.2401:53:00UTC+00European Economics Preview: Germany's Ifo Business Sentiment Data Due

Business confidence survey data from Germany and public sector finance from the UK are due on Tuesday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, foreign trade data from Switzerland is due. Swiss watch exports figures are also due.

At 2.45 am ET, the French statistical office Insee publishes manufacturing sentiment data. The confidence index is forecast to drop to 110 in April from 111 in March.

At 3.00 am ET, the Czech Statistical Office is set to issue consumer and business sentiment survey results.

Half an hour later, Sweden unemployment data is due. The jobless rate is forecast to rise to 6.6 percent in March from 6.3 percent in February.

At 4.00 am ET, Germany's Ifo business sentiment survey data is due. Economists forecast the business sentiment index to fall to 102.8 in April from 103.2 in March.

In the meantime, Italy's business and consumer confidence survey results are due. The consumer sentiment index is expected to drop to 116.9 in April from 117.5 in March.

At 4.30 am ET, the Office for National Statistics is set to issue UK public sector finance data. Public sector net borrowing, excluding banks, is forecast to rise to GBP 3 billion in March from GBP 1.3 billion in February.

At 6.00 am ET, the Confederation of British Industry is scheduled to issue Industrial Trends survey data for April. The industrial order balance is seen at 4 percent in April.

At 8.00 am ET, Hungary's central bank is set to announce its interest rate decision. The bank is forecast to keep its key rate unchanged at 0.90 percent.
