Singapore's unemployment rate decreased unexpectedly in the three months ended March, though marginally, preliminary figures from the Ministry of Manpower showed Friday.
The seasonally adjusted jobless rate edged down to 2.0 percent in the first quarter from 2.1 percent in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, the figure was forecast to remain stable at 2.1 percent.
The unemployment rate among residents dropped from 3.0 percent to 2.8 percent. For citizen, the rate remained stable at 3.0 percent.
