National Association of Realtors' Pending Home Sales Index for May will be published at 10.00 am ET Wednesday. The consensus is for 0.6 percent, versus decline of 1.3 percent in April.
Ahead of the data, the greenback advanced against its major rivals.
The greenback was worth 110.38 against the yen, 0.9949 against the franc, 1.1609 against the euro and 1.3158 against the pound as of 9:55 am ET.
