The one-day interbank deposit futures rates (DI rates) in Brazil ended slightly higher Wednesday amid technical adjustment in a session marked by the thinner trading volume and the lack of relevant news both domestically and abroad.

The trading session was calmer for the interest curve, said Marcos Pessoa, an economist at Renascen?a Corretora. He also highlighted the movement of thin liquidity and the lack of news able to impact the direction of interest.

The January 2019 DI contract rate closed at 6.74%, from 6.715% in the previous settlement, while the January 2020 DI rate was at 8.14%, from 8.08%. The January 2021 DI contract rate settled at 9.13, from 9.11%.
