At 8:30 am ET Thursday, U.S. weekly jobless claims for the week ended July 14 are due. Ahead of the data, the greenback rose against the franc, the euro and the pound, but held steady against the yen.
The greenback was worth 1.1583 against the euro, 113.04 against the yen, 1.0035 against the franc and 1.2973 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
