Canada retail sales for May and consumer inflation for June have been released from Statistics Canada at 8:30 am ET Friday.
After these data, the loonie climbed against its major counterparts.
The loonie was trading at 85.06 against the yen, 0.9726 against the aussie, 1.5392 against the euro and 1.3177 against the greenback around 8:31 am ET.
