Taiwan's industrial production growth moderated markedly in June, preliminary figures from the Ministry of Economic Affairs showed Monday.
Industrial production rose 0.36 percent year-over-year in June, well below the 7.61 percent spike in May. That was also slower than the 4.75 percent gain economists had expected.
However, this was the fourth successive monthly increase.
Among sectors, manufacturing production climbed 0.68 percent annually in June, while mining and quarrying output fell by 4.39 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped a seasonally adjusted 2.70 percent from May, when it rebounded by 1.70 percent.
