Austria's production index rose notably in May from a year ago, data from Statistics Austria showed Wednesday.
The production index that combines output of both industry and construction, advanced 6.2 percent year-over-year in May.
Industrial output grew 6.0 percent over the year and construction output expanded by 6.7 percent.
On a monthly basis, the production index registered an increase 1.6 percent.
