At 8:30 am ET Wednesday, the Commerce department has released U.S. retail sales for July.
After the data, the greenback rose against its major rivals.
The greenback was trading at 111.04 against the yen, 0.9973 against the franc, 1.1321 against the euro and 1.2696 against the pound around 8:31 am ET.
