At 4.30 am ET Thursday, the Office for National Statistics has released UK retail sales data. The pound rose against its major rivals after the data.
The pound was trading at 140.90 against the yen, 1.2630 against the franc, 1.2725 against the greenback and 0.8949 against the euro around 4:32 am ET.
