At 5.00 am ET Friday, Eurostat releases euro area final inflation for July. Inflation is expected to match the flash estimate of 2.1 percent versus 2 percent in June.
Ahead of the data, the euro climbed against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 126.22 against the yen, 1.1360 against the franc, 1.1402 against the greenback and 0.8966 against the pound as of 4:55 am ET.
