Australia's construction work done increased at a faster-than-expected rate in the three months ended June, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Wednesday.
Construction work done climbed a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent sequentially in the June quarter, following a 2.4 percent rise in the March quarter, which was revised up markedly from 0.2 percent.
Economists had expected a 0.8 percent increase for the month.
The value of building work done gained 2.5 percent and total engineering work done rose 0.4 percent.
