Malaysia's exports and imports posted new record highs in July, the Department of Statistics showed Wednesday.
Exports and imports reached MYR 86.1 billion and MYR 77.8 billion, respectively in July.
Exports increased 9.4 percent from the previous year, faster than the expected expansion of 4.7 percent. Similarly, imports climbed 10.3 percent annually compared to the forecast of 5.3 percent.
Month-on-month, exports rose 9.6 percent and imports advanced 7.2 percent in July.
During January to July, total trade surpassed MYR 1 trillion, registering MYR 1.1 trillion.
