Latvia's consumer price inflation accelerated in August after easing in the previous month, figures from the Central Statistical Bureau showed Monday.
Consumer prices climbed 2.8 percent year-over-year in August, faster than the 2.6 percent rise in July. The measure has been rising since September 2016.
Transport costs grew 7.2 percent annually in August and clothing and footwear prices rose by 0.2 percent. Meanwhile, food prices dropped 0.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.1 percent from July, when it fell by 0.8 percent.
