Portugal's foreign trade deficit increased in July from a year ago, figures from Statistics Portugal showed Monday.
The trade deficit rose to EUR 1.17 billion in July from EUR 1.14 billion in the corresponding month last year.
In June, the shortfall was EUR 1.65 billion.
In nominal terms, both exports and imports surged by 13.0 percent and 11.0 percent, respectively in July from a year earlier.
