Spain's consumer prices increased at a steady pace in August, as initially estimated, final data from INE showed Wednesday.

Consumer prices advanced 2.2 percent year-on-year in August, the same pace of increase as seen in July and in line with the flash estimate published on August 30.

EU harmonized inflation eased slightly in August, as estimated, to 2.2 percent from 2.3 percent in July.

Month-on-month, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent, reversing a 0.7 percent drop in July. Monthly inflation was revised down from 0.2 percent.

The harmonized index of consumer prices gained 0.1 percent as previously estimated.
