India's consumer price inflation slowed in August, the Central Statistics Office reported Wednesday.
Consumer price inflation eased to 3.69 percent in August from 4.17 percent in July. In the same period last year, inflation was 3.28 percent. Prices were expected to climb 3.77 percent.
At the same time, food price inflation came in at 0.29 percent versus 1.3 percent a month ago.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices gained 0.43 percent and food prices by 0.29 percent in August.
