Hong Kong's industrial production growth improved in the three months ended June, preliminary data published by the Census and Statistics Department showed Thursday.

The index of industrial production for manufacturing industries as a whole rose 1.6 percent year-over-year in the second quarter, faster than the 1.1 percent rise in the previous quarter.

The sub index for sewerage, waste management and remediation activities advanced 3.1 percent annually in the June quarter.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the index of industrial production for manufacturing industries as a whole increased by 0.6 percent in the second quarter compared with last year.

Data also revealed that industrial producer prices grew at a stable rate of 3.8 percent annually in the second quarter.
