Ireland's consumer prices increased for the fourth straight month in August, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Thursday.
The consumer price index climbed 0.7 percent year-over-year in August, just below the 0.8 percent rise in July.
Utility costs grew 6.4 percent annually in August, while prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages dropped by 2.6 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.3 percent from July, when it gained by 0.4 percent.
The EU measure of inflation or HICP, rose at a slightly slower pace of 0.9 percent yearly in August, after a 1.0 percent increase July. Month-on-month, the HICP went up 0.3 percent.
