The U.S. retail sales and import and export prices for August are due at 8:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of these reports, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback held steady against the yen and the franc, it rose against the euro. Against the pound, it dropped.
The greenback was worth 0.9643 against the franc, 1.1694 against the euro, 111.87 against the yen and 1.3111 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
