At 4.30 am ET Wednesday, the Office for National Statistics is scheduled to issue UK consumer and factory gate prices for August. Inflation is forecast to ease to 2.4 percent from 2.5 percent in July.
Ahead of the data, the pound traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the pound rose against the yen, the franc and the greenback, it dropped against the euro.
The pound was worth 1.3163 against the greenback, 148.03 against the yen, 1.2701 against the franc and 0.8893 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
