New Zealand will on Thursday release Q2 numbers for gross domestic product, headlining a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

GDP is expected to expand on quarter and 2.5 percent on year after gaining 0.5 percent on quarter and 2.7 percent on year in the three months prior.

Japan will see August figures for convenience store sales; in July, sales were up 0.1 percent on month and 1.5 percent on year.

Hong Kong will provide August data for consumer prices; the inflation rate is expected to hold steady at 2.4 percent.
