Hungary's average gross wages grew at the fastest pace in six months in July, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office reported Thursday.

Average gross wages advanced 12.8 percent year-on-year in July versus 11.2 percent increase seen in June. This was the fastest increase since January, when gross wages climbed 13.8 percent.

During January to July, average gross earnings and average net earnings grew 12.1 percent each compared to the same period of the previous year.

Average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance activities and the lowest in accommodation and food service activities.
