The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence report for September will be published at 10.00 am ET Tuesday. The consensus is for 131.7 versus 133.4 last month.
Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback fell against the franc, it held steady against the rest of major counterparts.
The greenback was worth 112.93 against the yen, 0.9649 against the franc, 1.1786 against the euro and 1.3157 against the pound as of 9:55 am ET.
