Cyprus' industrial production slowed sharply in July, after robust growth in the previous three months, amid steep drop in the pace of growth in both manufacturing and utilities, preliminary data from the Statistical Service showed Thursday.

The index of industrial production rose 2.5 percent from June, when it grew 9.9 percent. Production increased 7.5 percent in April and 8 percent in June.

Manufacturing growth slowed to 4.7 percent from 10.8 percent. Electric supply output shrunk 4.4 percent and other utilities decreased 0.7 percent.

Meanwhile, the mining and quarrying output surged 35.2 percent after a 19.8 percent increase in June.
