Romania's retail sales growth eased for the second successive month in August, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Wednesday.
Retail sales, excluding automobile trade climbed a seasonally and working-day-adjusted 1.7 percent year-over-year in August, slower than July's 4.8 percent rise.
Sales have been rising since April 2015.
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco grew 6.1 percent annually in August and those of non-food products advanced by 3.7 percent.
Month-on-month, retail sales edged down 0.1 percent from July, when it decreased by 1.1 percent.
