The pound drifted higher against its major counterparts in pre-European deals on Tuesday.

The U.K. currency appreciated to 4-day highs of 0.8795 against the euro and 147.46 against the yen, from its early lows of 0.8810 and 146.89, respectively.

The pound climbed to a weekly high of 1.3019 against the franc, from a low of 1.2969 hit at 5:00 pm ET.

The pound rebounded to 1.3164 against the greenback, from an early Asian session's decline of 1.3138.

If the pound rises further, it may find resistance around 0.86 against the euro, 150.00 against the yen, 1.32 against the franc and 1.34 against the greenback.
