At 8:30 am ET Friday, Statistics Canada will release Canada retail sales for August and consumer inflation for September.
Ahead of these data, the loonie traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the loonie rose against the greenback and the yen, it fell against the aussie. Against the euro, it held steady.
The loonie was worth 86.23 against the yen, 0.9308 against the aussie, 1.3037 against the greenback and 1.4945 against the euro as of 8:25 am ET.
