French consumer confidence improved marginally in October, survey data from the statistical office Insee showed Friday.

The consumer sentiment index rose to 95 in October from 94 in September. The score came in line with expectations.

Households' opinion balances concerning their future financial situation as well as past personal situation held steady at -16 and -30, respectively.

Consumers' assessment of their expected saving capacity increased 2 points with the balance at -7. Likewise, households' opinion balance on their current saving capacity increased by 2 points.

Assessment of future standard of living in France also improved in October. The corresponding balance bounced back to -30 from -35. However, their views about the past standard of living deteriorated.

Another report from Insee showed that producer prices in the French market gained 0.3 percent on month in September taking the annual growth to 3.6 percent.

In the overall market, producer prices rose 0.3 percent from August and by 3.5 percent from the previous year.
