The total number of home loans issued in Australia was down a seasonally adjusted 1.0 percent on month in September, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Friday - coming in at 50,673.
That was in line with expectations following the 2.1 percent contraction in August.
The value of loans skidded 4.2 percent on month to A$19.367 billion following the 2.7 percent drop a month earlier.
Investment lending was down 2.8 percent on month to A$9.751 billion following the 1.1 percent drop in the previous month.
