The Office for National Statistics will release U.K. retail sales for January at 4:30 am ET Friday.
Ahead of the data, the pound held steady against its major counterparts.
The pound was worth 141.23 against the yen, 1.2883 against the franc, 1.2798 against the greenback and 0.8810 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
