South Africa's producer price inflation rose sharply in March to its highest level in four months, figures from Statistics South Africa showed on Thursday.
The producer price index rose 6.2 percent year-on-year in March, following a 4.7 percent in February.
The latest inflation was the highest since last November, when it was 6.8 percent.
The acceleration in inflation was driven by the rise in prices of coke, petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastic products, food products, beverages and tobacco products, and paper and printed products.
On a month-on-month basis, producer prices increased 1.3 percent in March.
