South Africa's producer price inflation slowed in May after rising in the previous month, figures from Statistics South Africa showed on Thursday.
The producer price index climbed 6.4 percent year-on-year in May, after rising 6.5 percent in April. In March, producer prices gained 6.2 percent.
The main contribution came from coke, petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastic products, food products, beverages and tobacco products, and metals, machinery, equipment and computing equipment.
On a month-on-month basis, producer prices rose 0.5 percent in May.
