Malaysia's consumer price inflation slowed in July, figures from the Department of Statistics showed on Wednesday.
The consumer price index climbed 1.4 percent year-on-year in July, after a 1.5 percent increase in June.
Among main groups, prices for furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance grew by 3.3 percent and those of food and non-alcoholic beverages and recreation services and culture rose by 2.4 percent, each.
The alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices gained 2.3 percent and communication prices rose by 2.1 percent.
Compared to the previous month, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent in July.
The core CPI rose 2.0 percent year-on-year in July.
