After the release of Canada retail sales for June at 8:30 am ET Friday, the loonie rose against its major counterparts.
The loonie was trading at 79.85 against the yen, 0.8985 against the aussie, 1.3324 against the greenback and 1.4742 against the euro around 8:32 am ET.
