South Africa's producer price inflation eased to the lowest level in seven months in August, figures from Statistics South Africa showed on Thursday.
The producer price index climbed 4.5 percent year-on-year in August, following a 4.9 percent rise in July.
The latest inflation was the slowest since January, when it was 4.1 percent.
The main contribution to the inflation came from food products, beverages and tobacco products, metals, machinery, equipment and computing equipment, coke, petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastic products, and paper and printed products.
On a month-on-month basis, producer prices rose 0.3 percent in August.
