At 3.30 am ET Thursday, Germany's flash PMI report is due. The composite index is forecast to climb to 48.8 in October from 48.5 in September.
Ahead of the data, the euro advanced against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 1.1156 against the greenback, 121.31 against the yen, 0.8628 against the pound and 1.1039 against the franc at 3:25 am ET.
