At 5.00 am ET Thursday, Eurostat releases euro area flash GDP data. The single currency bloc is expected to grow 0.2 percent sequentially in the third quarter, as previously estimated.
Ahead of the data, the euro retreated from its early highs against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 119.46 against the yen, 1.0866 against the franc, 0.8558 against the pound and 1.1001 against the greenback at 4:55 am ET.
