Portugal producer prices fell for the fifth month in a row in October, figures from Statistics Portugal showed on Tuesday.

The producer price index fell 2.0 percent year-on-year in October, following a 1.8 percent decrease in September.

Excluding the energy grouping, producer prices declined 0.7 percent in October, following a 0.6 percent fall in the previous month.

Energy prices decreased 6.6 percent annually in October and prices of intermediate goods fell 2.3 percent. Prices for investment goods rose 0.6 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent in October, after a 0.3 percent fall in the prior month.
