Malaysia's consumer prices logged steady growth in October, figures from the Department of Statistics showed on Wednesday.
The consumer price index rose 1.1 percent year-on-year in October, the same rate of increase as seen in September. Economists had expected 1.0 percent rise.
Among main groups, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco and miscellaneous good and services grew 2.2 percent each annually in October and those of education, and food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.9 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively.
Compared to the previous month, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent in October.
The core CPI rose 1.4 percent year-on-year in October.
