The largest positive contribution to growth came from food, beverages and tobacco and household furniture, appliances and equipment. Meanwhile, hardware, paint and glass sales decreased from last year.
On a monthly basis, retail sales fell 0.2 percent, reversing a 0.6 percent rise in September.
In the three months ended October, retail trade sales decreased 0.5 percent compared with the previous three months.
