New Zealand food prices declined for the second straight month in November, Statistics NZ reported Thursday.
Food prices dropped 0.7 percent on a monthly basis, following a 0.3 percent fall in October.
Data showed that fruit and vegetable prices decreased 3 percent and meat, poultry and fish prices edged up 0.1 percent. Meanwhile, grocery food prices fell 0.2 percent and non-alcoholic beverage prices decreased 2.9 percent.
On a yearly basis, food prices increased 2.4 percent in November, slightly slower than the 2.5 percent rise in October.
Another report from the statistical office showed that overseas visitor arrivals increased 300 from last year to 283,800 in October. The number of New Zealand residents returning from an overseas trip rose 200 annually to 326,400.
