New Zealand posted a merchandise trade deficit of NZ$753 million in November, Statistics New Zealand said on Thursday - shy of expectations for a shortfall of NS$700 million following the NZ$1.039 billion deficit in October.
Exports were up 7.6 percent or NZ$371 million to NZ$5.23 billion, exceeding expectations NZ$5.10 billion and up from NZ$$5.01 billion in the previous month.
Imports gained an annual 2.0 percent or NZ$119 million to NZ$5.98 billion versus expectations for NZ$5.80 billion and down from NZ$6.05 a month earlier.
